Making People Better
As a Community Mental Health Support Worker, you will join a multidisciplinary team of clinical professionals, providing life changing mental health support to individuals across Basildon and Brentwood.
Using your skills and experience in care, you will provide physical health checks for individuals who are on the Serious Mental Illness (SMI) register. You will carry out a range of checks, including smoking status, alcohol intake, sleep, diet, exercise, substance misuse, BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol, and provide health and wellbeing advice to support your patients going forward.
Your passion for patient care and service delivery will allow you to contribute valuable insights, to help ensure that we are providing the best support for our clients. You will be supported by experienced, engaging clinicians who will work with you to develop your clinical skills and provide regular supervision to help inform your practice.
Getting to know You
Alongside your enthusiasm, commitment and motivation, we would like you to have:
- An NVQ or QFC in Health and Social Care / Certificate in Community Mental Health / Associate Practitioner Training / HCA Care Certificate
- Experience of working with people who live with having mental and/or physical health problems
- An awareness of, and commitment to, supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
Experience of working within a Primary Care or Community setting would also be great to see but is not essential for the role.
Please Note: You must be able to travel in and around the Basildon and Brentwood area for this role.
