HR Administrator

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join our HR team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional with a minimum of 3 years' generalist HR administration experience who enjoys delivering a high-quality service and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will support a range of employee lifecycle activities, maintain accurate HR records, provide advice on routine HR queries, and ensure all HR documentation is processed accurately and efficiently. 

As a key member of the HR team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a professional and customer-focused HR service is delivered across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing and responding to queries received through the HR ticketing system.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for employees and managers on routine HR matters, policies and procedures.
  • Administering employee lifecycle activities, including contractual changes, flexible working arrangements, and employee leavers.
  • Preparing and issuing a variety of HR documentation and correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and updating information within the HR system.
  • Supporting DBS renewal applications, security clearances and other compliance-related processes.
  • Maintaining employee files and ensuring compliance with GDPR and company procedures.
  • Assisting with HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Producing accurate HR data and reports when required.
  • Participating in a peer review process, quality checking HR documentation prepared by colleagues to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance before issue.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and service delivery.  

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' generalist HR administration experience.
  • Previous experience working within a busy HR function.
  • Experience administering employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience producing and managing HR documentation and correspondence.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and maintaining employee records.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and GDPR requirements.
  • Ability to review and quality check documentation with a high level of accuracy. 

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or currently studying towards CIPD.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting payroll administration.
  • Experience producing HR reports and management information.
  • Experience of compliance administration, including DBS or security clearance processes.
