Remote EAP Management Support Helpline Counsellor

We have an exciting opportunity for a counsellor with management experience to join our growing team of qualified counsellors delivering phone-based support to our customer’s management team as part of our Employee Assistance Service.
Our counsellors work remotely from home, but never alone, and we provide flexible working arrangements, clinical supervision, training and CPD opportunities
The Role:
As a Management Support Helpline Counsellor, you have a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference to people’s emotional health and wellbeing. As part of our EAP Helpline service, you will provide emotional and practical assistance to managers in the workplace to support their teams.
Our EAP helpline operates 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure people receive emotional support, information and advice when they need it. This role is 37.5 hours over 5 days between 8am-8pm to include one late shift per week and either a Saturday or Sunday.
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for:
- Providing managers (from our corporate customers) with support and tools to help them effectively deal with a wide range of issues from employees such as stress, workplace change, low engagement, conflict with colleagues, bullying and harassment, absence management and personal pressures affecting work.
- Delivering other Corporate and EAP service products as required (e.g., immediate emotional support to clients of VHG Corporate and EAP Services as a Helpline Counsellor to our Emotional Support Helpline).
- Taking inbound and making outbound calls for our Employee Assistance Provision helpline
- Conducting triage assessments and making clinical decision based on presenting issues
- Using evidence-based practice to make pathway placement recommendations
- Providing immediate in the moment advice and counselling support to callers
- Ensuring you deliver high quality services to our customers, in line with your governing body's code of practice and ethical guidelines
The candidate we are looking for:
- Recognised Counselling Qualification – ideally Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above)
- BACP (or equivalent - NCS Accredited Professional status is accepted) Registered Membership is essential preferably working towards accredited status (unfortunately Individual/Student Membership cannot be accepted)
- A minimum of 2 years counselling experience, preferably with a variety of diverse client groups
- Extensive experience of managing a team or supporting managers in their roles
- 1 year experience in delivering counselling via telephone or virtually is desired
- Self-motivated and confident in remote working to cover agreed shift pattern
- Competent IT skills, experience of MS office and MS teams is essential.
- Knowledge of using the Stepped Care Model and clinical outcome measures (PHQ9 and GAD7) desirable.

- On successful completion of an initial screening call and interview we will discuss and agree your shift pattern and contract with you
- We will provide all the IT equipment needed and check in with you prior to your start date to ensure you have everything you need
- You will receive a 2-week induction, online and with others, this includes an introduction from the service mangers and meeting some of your new colleagues
- We support you with “on the job” training to help you practice and use your telephone and IT skills with our team of seniors who are there to support you every step of the way.
