Mental Health Practitioner Team Lead

We are looking for a motivated and committed Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work within our Basildon and Brentwood Primary Care Network service as a Mental Health Practitioner (MHP). The successful candidate will combine clinical duties with team leadership responsibilities. An integral member of the Primary Care Team, the MHP is responsible for assessing, signposting, and following up service users who attend at their local GP practice with mental health difficulties. You will ensure that patients receive the right care at the right time for their specific needs.

The role is a mixture of remote and office-based working within the Basildon and Brentwood area and so the post-holder must be able to drive and travel. The MHP Team Lead will work as part of the VitaMinds management team to ensure that the delivery of service meets local needs.

Are you a passionate RMN, can you demonstrate?

  • A current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a range mental health difficulties
  • An appreciation of how mental health and physical health issues affect psychological and social functioning
  • Robust assessment skills including risk assessment and management
  • The ability to work well within teams as well as independently
  • The ability to establish and foster strong therapeutic alliances with patients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT skills - Microsoft Office/Patient record systems
