NHS MSK Compliance Manager

 

The NHS MSK Compliance Manager role is key to ensuring we are delivering a safe and high quality service.

This is a great career progression opportunity for an MSK physio with some experience of complaints, audit, improvement projects and other governance activities. Training and coaching will be given by senior members of the team, alongside opportunities to attend appropriate national patient safety events and other approved governance training courses.

As part of the Governance Team, you will work to ensure quality, safety and risk compliance of the NHS MSK services as part of the overarching Governance agenda. You will participate and review risk assessment, lead risk mitigation and risk escalation to ensure safe working practice. This will include supporting development and maintenance of a risk register.

You will participate and lead on clinical audits and non-clinical audits and quality improvement projects and work alongside members of the Governance and NHS MSK teams to implement corrective/preventative measures from audit, complaints, incidents and disseminate lessons learned.

You will also process serious incidents as reported, ensuring immediate actions where appropriate and allocating them to an investigator / taking responsibility for investigation as required.

 

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in compliance roles, dealing with risk, complaints and implementing clinical audits
  • Physiotherapy Bsc. Hons Degree or equivalent
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis
  • Familiarity with CQC requirements / inspections
  • An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required

Desirable:

  • 1+ year's MSK outpatient experience
  • Managing governance input to operational teams in terms of communication and approach
  • Serious Complaints/Incidents handling
