People Compliance Manager

Job Introduction

The People Services Team is delighted to advertise an exciting new opportunity to join our team in the capacity of People Compliance Manager!  This is predominantly an HR compliance role which leads and single-handedly holds investigations end to end. It therefore requires a minimum of one years’ experience as HR manager or business partner. Combining strong HR technical knowledge with good experience of writing and implementing policies and procedures you should enjoy being part of a vibrant team and keen to play a key role in the growth and development of our department.

The team has grown significantly over the past two years since it was established with our remit expanding from its origins in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion to incorporate Freedom to Speak Up, Health and Wellbeing and now People Compliance allowing us to bring a broader, multifaceted approach to each of these.

This role has been created to undertake internal People Services and HR investigations of varying complexity in line with Company policies, procedures, and best practice. In conjunction with the Head of Service and supported by the wider team you will carrying out both formal and informal pieces of work. This includes formal investigations as well as informal resolutions and engagement pieces.  The role sits within the People Leadership Team for People Services Team and is accountable to the Head of Service often deputising in their absence. The role requires a very flexible working approach and you will also be expected to engage and support the operational team.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Champion VHG values and policy and procedure adherence 
  • Manage the investigation process end to end, including report writing and attending hearings where required.
  • Ensure all investigations are conducted promptly, fairly and thoroughly.
  • Generate professional, well-drafted investigation records, plans and reports.
  • Analyse and assess information, applying a high level of attention to detail and an awareness of the relevant legal frameworks.
  • Independently manage assigned casework.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing consistent and quality customer service.
This role is 22.5 hours per week with specific hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.
